Morgan Cox was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and holds an MFA in Acting from Temple University, in Philadelphia, PA. She has performed locally with Portland Shakespeare Project, Bag&Baggage, Portland Center Stage’s JAW Festival, as well as various film and commercial projects. Before returning to Portland, she was an acting apprentice at both the Williamstown Theatre Festival, and Berkshire

Theatre Group (formerly Berkshire Theatre Festival). Credits at Williamstown include “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and “The Cherry Orchard. At Berkshire Theatre Group, she performed in “A Christmas Carol” and “Where has Tommy Flowers Gone?”  Morgan has a background in improvisational and sketch comedy, with training from both The Groundlings and Upright Citizens Brigade. One of Morgan’s favorite gigs to date was the voice of Andrew’s Mom in the nationally aired Hallmark animated Christmas shows “Jingle All the Way” and “Jingle and Bell’s Christmas Star”, which were locally produced in Portland, Oregon. In addition to performing, Morgan has taught theatre classes to a variety of age groups and is absolutely thrilled to be teaching with Jessica Geffen at The Sound Stage!

Looking for something fun for your kiddos ages 9-14 years old to do on Saturday mornings?

Join professional actress and instructor Morgan Cox at The Sound Stage in Downtown Vancouver, WA!

Throughout this 4-week session, Morgan Cox will explore various theatre games, improv exercises, cold readings, movement, monologues, character work, and more! The Owner

The Owner

Headshot by James Banasiak

Hi! I'm the owner, Jessica Geffen!

I relocated to the Pacific Northwest from Mililani, Hawaii after receiving my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from Southern Oregon University, in Ashland, Oregon, where I trained with actors and directors from the world-renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival.

My most recent work on stage was with the talented 70+ musicians in the Rogue Valley Symphony, performing a piece in the beautiful production of Grammy-nominated composer Peter Boyer’s Ellis Island: The Dream of America, directed by the award-winning Craig Jessen.

Prior to that magical experience, I worked for six years as a Resident Actor and Associate Artist with Hillsboro’s professional theatre company, Bag&Baggage Productions.  During this time, I won the Broadway World Award for Best Featured Actress in Blithe Spirit, and was Drammy nominated for my work in The Drowning Girls.  I have also worked with Theatre Vertigo, PDX Playwrights, Well Arts, Public Playhouse, Portland Actors Ensemble, and Lunacy Stageworks.

I have been so grateful to have worked in professional theatre and film for over 20 years, and have agency representation with The Option Agency and Big Fish NW in the PNW, as well as multiple regional agents for voice over throughout the US.  The recent film I had the pleasure of working on, Confessions of a Romance Narrator: Jaw Recorder, was selected as a finalist at this year’s 10th Annual Nevada Women’s Film Festival, and won awards at the recent Skiptown Playhouse International film Festival in LA.

In addition to my work on stage and in front of the camera, I have narrated and produced over 100 audiobook titles as an Audible Approved Producer, and have voiced work with some incredible clients, including Amazon, Old Navy, Intel, Microsoft, National Geographic, Intuit, TiVo, and many more!  You may also recognize me from my national commercial campaign for the Ad Council and CDC, airing now, and my regional commercial campaign for Taylor Farms!

I am extremely passionate about theatre, film, and voice over work, and am very excited to open the doors to this new studio to help support you in this field.

When not on stage, in front of the camera, or behind the mic, I reside in Vancouver, WA, with my amazing husband, Tim, my two kiddos, Margot and Simon, my two kitties and puppy, and a really rad turtle who we discovered in our backyard. I enjoy camping, hiking, cooking, karaoke, board games, being in and around water, sitting next to a fire pit and traveling with my family.
